Vitrified Oocytes/Embryos

ARK Resource offers our customers pronuclear stage fertilized oocytes and embryos for many mice/rats strains, C57BL/6J Jcl, C57BL/6N Jcl, Jcl:SD, F344/Jcl etc., mice/rats frozen at the desired stage and quantity. These can then be used in creating genetically-modified mice/rats and for culture studies. Superovulation preparation and egg collection are unnecessary as our products are ready to use once thawed. We can also keep you stocked consistently with what you need, meaning you can work effectively and on schedule without having to worry about the conditions of your animals.

Specifications:

All products are frozen using the simple vitrification procedure (Nakao K et al., 1997).

Please understand that there is sometimes slight loss due to freezing and recovery.

Orders start at 1 tube (50 per tube). Orders are shipped in dry shippers.

TET (Tetraploid embryos)

ARK Resource now offers tetraploid embryos(TET).


Tetraploid embryos are known for being able to contribute extraembryonically, e.g., to the placenta, but cannot contribute to the fetus itself (the embryo body). By making a chimera from a pluripotent stem cell (ES cells, iPS cells, etc.) and a TET embryo, a fetus can be made that is derived completely from the pluripotent stem cell, including the germ cells.


Additionally, for knockout mice with phenotypes that lead to fetal death due to poor placentation, creation of a chimera with a tetraploid embryo makes it possible to rescue the mouse.
